Q: How DO you pronounce Tsukineko?
A: Tsukineko is pronounced similarly to Tsunami. The "T" is silent, the "I" is long and the "E" is short. So - for ease, try saying, Soo - Key - Necko -- Now wasn't that easy!

Q: Is your product acid-free?
A:
Yes, all of our pigment and dye inks are acid-free.

Q: Is your product archival?
A:
Yes, everything except Impress and Kaleidacolor.

Q: What can I use to seal my StazOn on tile and glass?
A:
We recommend using Diamond Glaze from Judi-kins to seal your StazOn. Keep in mind that Diamond Glaze is a water-based product and should not be exposed to moisture.

Q: What is the inner plastic lining for on the inkpad?
A:
Many of our pads have a thin inner plastic lining to help keep the pads as moist as possible. We recommend reapplying the inner lid after each use to keep the pad as fresh as possible.

Q: Can I sharpen my Fantastix?
A:
Even though it looks like you can sharpen the Fantastix, it is not recommended. Think of them as a cross between a paintbrush and a marker.

Q: Is my VersaMark ruined if it is dirty?
A:
Not at all, VersaMark, as with any inkpad, is not ruined if the top is dirty, but we do recommend trying to use a clean stamp everytime for best results.

Q: How can I get the "batik" or "watercolor" look from using Kaleidacolor or Impress?
A:
Because Kaleidacolor and Impress pads are both dye inks, they are perfect for diluting and creating watercolored looks for all of your projects. After brayering over your Kaleidacolor or Impress pad, try spritzing your brayer with some water and then brayering - you'll see the subtle beauty we here at Tsukineko love!

Q: I've heard that some ink pads should be stored upside-down; which ones should I store that way and why?
A:
Our pads are designed so it is not necessary to leave the pads upside-down.

Q: What surfaces is StazOn designed for?
A:
StazOn is ideal on all non-porous and semi-porous surfaces. These surfaces include glass, glazed ceramic tile, metal, acrylic plastic, leather, aluminum foil, and much, much more!

Q: Do I need a special cleaner to use with my StazOn Inkpads?
A:
Even though StazOn is archival, it contains a small amount of solvent and we recommend the use of Tsukineko's StazOn All-Purpose Stamp Cleaner. The solvent will not harm rubber stamps and this cleaner will help avoid discolorization of the rubber.

Q: I am having trouble bringing out the detail in some of my stamps. Can Tsukineko recommend a pad which will bring out something as detailed as the veins in a leaf?
A:
Yes, VersaFine™ will give you a print quality image on matte and uncoated paper. VersaFine also dries instantly on matte paper. Once it's dry you can watercolor over it and it won’t smear or ever fade!

Q: Why is StazOn Opaque pad sold uninked?
A: The unique formula of StazOn Opaque ink requires separate packaging of the ink and inkpad in order to prevent color separation. This packaging configuration ensures the best quality inkpad possible.

Q: Do I need to re-ink my pad after each use?
A: No. Apply ink to rejuvenate the pad periodically when it seems to be getting dry.

Q: Can colors be customized?
A:
Absolutely! StazOn Opaque inkers and unlinked foam pads are also sold separately for your creative convenience.

* Always replace inner liner / plastic cover after each use.
