INSTRUCTIONS
-
Use CDs without scratches. Work on ½ of the CD at a
time. Heat the CD with the heat tool for 10-15
seconds with the heat tool. Do not overheat or the
CD will bubble and give off fumes. Let cool.
-
Cut the CD into sections.
-
Stamp one piece with an image.
-
Sand another piece with the sponge.
-
Use a crumpled up piece of plastic wrap to pounce
ink on another piece.
-
Glue the pieces together offset from each other with
the adhesive. Let dry.
-
Sand the pin back and the back of the CDs. Add pin
back towards the top of the pin so that the pin will
sit correctly.
DESIGNER
NOTES
I’ve sanded with both plain paper and the
sponges. Craft stores have these tiny oval ones that work
great. Plain paper gives less consistent results but it is
cheaper.
VARIATIONS
Search for CD that are different colors. My
husband brought home some old read only CDs that were gold.
I have cut up old DVD movies that were gold too. Some data
CDs have a green or blue tint. I have a really bad
Playstation game disc that is cobalt blue that I will cut up
when I find the perfect stamp. I’m also waiting impatiently
for someone to make CD’s that match all of those jewel
colored cases.
