“StazOn™ Cowboy and the Magic Boot” Scrapbook Page Instructions:
  1. Tint metal star brads: 5 with StazOn™ Timber Brown and 2 with StazOn™ Pumpkin, set aside to dry.

  2. Tint metal star button with StazOn™ Mustard, set aside to dry.

  3. Stamp Antique Cowboy onto 2 1/4” square piece of Vege-tan leather using StazOn™ Jet Black – the head of the cowboy should go in one of the corners (feet will be stamped off the edge), set aside to dry.

  4. Stamp year onto 3 x 1” pieces of Vege-tan leather using number set and StazOn™ Jet Black (it’s OK to not be evenly stamped), set aside to dry.

TIP: When stamping always use firm, even pressure over entire stamp!

*Put all StazOn™ ink pads away

Coloring the boot:
  1. Cut Masking Magic sheet in half across the long side.

  2. Place one half over top curve of the bootleg and trace the curve, repeat with second half on bottom curve.

  3. Cut the Masking Magic piece along drawn lines, retain all pieces (should be 4).

  4. Remove backing from Masking Magic and place over the top and bottom of boot, leaving only the leg exposed.

  5. Start coloring by applying VersaMagic™ Thatched Straw to the entire leg of boot, using a Sponge Dauber.

  6. Apply VersaMagic™ Sierra Vista in sections creating a random pattern, repeat with VersaMagic™ Night Sky (use a new Sponge Dauber for each color).

  7. Then go back over the entire leg with VersaMagic™ Thatched Straw to blend and “soften”.

  8. Now ink the Diamond stamp with VersaMagic™ Night Sky and stamp over the colored boot leg – make sure to over lap onto the Masking Magic at top and bottom.

    REMEMBER ABOVE STAMPING TIP!
  1. Remove the current pieces of Masking Magic.

  2. Using remaining two pieces of Masking Magic, cover the inside curves on the leg of the boot.

  3. Color the top and bottom of the boot, using the same technique, combining VersaMagic™ Sierra Vista and Jumbo Java.

  4. Remove the Masking Magic and set aside to dry.

    *Put all rubber stamps away

  5. Take out the 2 pieces of Tranquil Blue paper.
Trim the 8 1/2 x 2” title strip by tearing all sides a very small amount
(compare the size of your die-cut letters to ensure they will fit after tearing).
    Create five 1” squares by tearing the 8 1/2 x 1 1/4” piece.

  6. Edge all sides of all torn blue paper with VersaMagic™ Night Sky, using Sponge Dauber.

  7. Set all pieces of Tranquil Blue paper aside.

  8. Using one of the Fantastix™, color in the shirt of the stamped cowboy image with VersaMagic™ Night Sky.

  9. Using the other Fantastix™, color in the kerchief of the stamped cowboy image with VersaMagic™ Brick Red.

  10. Edge all sides of both leather pieces (leather stamped with cowboy and leather stamped with year), set aside.

  11. Going back to the boot . . . punch holes through the marked circles at the top, using a 1/8” hole punch.

  12. Thread the 12” length of raffia through the holes starting in the back and taping both ends to the back with masking tape.

    *Put all VersaMagic™ inkpads away

Putting it all together:

  1. Adhere 12 x 12” denim paper to 12 x 12” textured natural, using Tombow.

  2. Adhere 12 x 2” bandana paper to bottom of denim paper.

  3. Create five 1 1/4” squares by tearing the 8 1/2 x 1 3/4” piece of velvet beige paper.

  4. Connect, one-by-one, the 1” blue squares to the 1 1/4” velvet beige squares, using the tinted metal brads – make sure that the top and bottom squares are diagonal to each other. You should end up with 3 square sets that have Timber Brown stars and 2 that have Pumpkin stars.

TIP: Pre-punch holes for brads with a thumbtack!

  5. Adhere the square sets across the bandana strip with Tombow, starting with the center and moving out.

  6. Punch one hole in the bottom corner of each side of the title strip, using a 1/8” hole punch.

  7. Tie a bow through each hole with the 8” lengths of jute.

  8. Adhere the die-cut letters, spelling out “TEXAS”, evenly across the title strip.

  9. Adhere title strip to the top, center of the page, using black foam tape.

  10. Adhere the 3 1/2” square velvet mocha paper to the 3 3/4” square black linen paper, using Tombow.

  11. Adhere the 2 1/2” square leather piece (stamped with cowboy) to the 3 1/2” velvet mocha paper (already mounted to black linen paper in the above step) with Aleene’s Tacky Glue, center evenly.

  12. Place one tinted star brad (color – Timber Brown) to each side of leather piece, punch through the velvet mocha and black linen papers.

REMEMBER ABOVE TIP ABOUT USING BRADS!

  13. Fold the 4” length of navy/tan plaid ribbon in half, attach to the bottom, front of the above combination using masking tape.

  14. Adhere this combination to the top of the folded, pop-up photo book using Tombow.

  15. Adhere the 3 3/4 x 1 1/4” velvet mocha paper to the 4 x 1 1/2” black linen paper, using Tombow.

  16. Adhere the 3 x 1” leather piece (stamped with the year) to the 3 3/4 x 1 1/4” velvet mocha paper (already mounted to black linen paper in the above step) with Aleene’s Tacky Glue, center evenly.

  17. Now the fun part . . . arrange the pop-up photo book, year and boot on your page. The boot should go on the left.
The pop-up photo book and year should go on the right with the book at the top.

  18. Adhere the boot using black foam tape.

  19. Adhere the pop-up photo book and year with Tombow.

    Congratulations, you’re finished!
