Place metal over frame with opening centered and allowing
1” overhang at top and ˝” at bottom. Lightly press metal to
frame along outer and inner edges to mark area to be
stenciled. Remove metal from frame.
Place pansy stencil on one corner of metal frame cover.
(Refer to project photograph for placement.) Rub a Fantastix
on Mustard ink pad to pick up ink. Dab Mustard ink in center
of pansy and along center vein line on leaves. Pounce a sponge
dauber onto Azure ink pad then around center of pansy allowing
some of the Mustard ink to show. Repeat using a clean dauber
and Royal Purple ink to color outside edges of pansy. Use
another sponge dauber and Forest Green ink to finish coloring
leaves and tendrils.
Place stenciled metal on a magazine or phone book for
padding. Use the smaller end of the embosser to outline leaves
and flower petals. Continue embossing around stenciling to
fill in background.
Run silver leafing pen around opening edges and along
bottom of frame.
Cut an “X” in center opening from corner to corner. Trim
opening metal sides to impressed outline using a straight edge
and craft knife on a cutting mat. Fold ˝” along bottom edge to
back.
Place double stick tape around frame opening, along sides
and bottom edge. Center metal on frame then press down around
opening, sides and bottom edge. Apply double stick tape to top
edge on backside then fold metal over top and smooth onto
tape. Use an old credit card to press down all edges and
smooth metal.
Cut two 2” x 10 1/2” strips of metal. Place on back of
frame sides. Rub lightly to mark top, bottom, sides, and easel
stand. Trim easel stand side to fit. Apply double stick tape
to long sides of metal strips. Smooth strips into place on
sides.
Insert photograph into frame. Place plastic sheet
included with frame in place. Stamp your choice of words
onto plastic sheet using Royal Purple ink.
